Join the Los Angeles Conservancy and the Los Angeles Department of City Planning for a day of workshops, tours, and networking to learn more about how to protect the unique character of Los Angeles’ historic neighborhoods, known as Historic Preservation Overlay Zones (HPOZs).
The 2012 Los Angeles HPOZ Conference is open to anyone interested in historic districts. It will include lectures, panels, interactive discussions, and hands-on workshops aimed at community leaders and local residents in HPOZs. We'll conclude with your choice of a walking tour in one of three Hollywood-area HPOZs.
The HPOZ Conference is for you if:
• You live in, or own property in, an HPOZ or historic district,
• You are a current HPOZ Board member, OR
• You are interested in forming an HPOZ for your neighborhood
It's a great opportunity to meet other neighborhood leaders from around Los Angeles, and to take new ideas back to your own community.
The Highland Park Heritage Trust is dedicated to the preservation of Los Angeles’ Arroyo Seco communities of Highland Park, Garvanza, Mt. Washington, Hermon and Montecito Heights and Cypress Park.
We are an all-volunteer, non-profit community organization, and we strive to preserve and promote the historic character of these communities and educate the public about the historic and cultural significance of these Northeast Los Angeles neighborhoods. Working since 1982, our list of accomplishments is spectacular. The work of HPHT is supported by our members. Please consider joining.
